The University of Macedonia is the second and “youngest” University of the city of Thessaloniki and it specializes in computer, economics and social sciences. The Software Engineering Group of the Applied Informatics Department of the University of Macedonia is active in education and research in the areas of Software Technology, Software Quality and Maintenance, Programming Environments, and Internet Applications. The group consists of 2 staff members, 3 post-doc researchers, and more than 15 PhD, MSc, and BSc students. The group’s research focuses on software design, software maintenance and quality assessment (with particular emphasis on the topic of Technical Debt) and software evolution analysis. The group has participated in more than 12 EC and nationally funded research projects on software analysis and quality assessment.

UoM is the leader of Sub-task 3.1.1 and Task 3.4. The main role is to provide (a) AR/XR solutions to assist with critical agricultural operations, utilising FMIS data for informed decision-making; and (b) XAI technologies to foster transparency and build trust between AI technologies and end-users for enhanced learning in agriculture.
