Research group ACRO at KU Leuven Campus Diepenbeek has many years of experience in the research domains of automation, computer vision and robotics. It focuses on the translation of fundamental research into prototypes with a higher Technology Readiness Level. Its conducted research has a wide application domain ranging from manufacturing, assembly, logistics, agriculture, healthcare, construction, domestic up to end-of-life-treatment and nuclear environments.
Building the core technology behind the next generation orchard robots. Creating safe & intelligent systems that allow them to autonomously navigate rows of trees, identify ripe fruit using advanced sensors, and perform harvesting/pruning tasks with accuracy. Our research explores future applications in precision agriculture and automated crop management.
